Scripture2 Scripture

is based upon the belief that Scripture will interpret Scripture when personal bias is left out of the deduction. Whether symbolic, spiritual, literal or whatever the interpretative method, Scripture will not contradict when "rightly dividing the word of truth."

Potter and Clay Added:

Question: What are some biblical references relating God as the potter and us as clay? Answer: Scripture tells us that we who are of faith, the same are the children of Abraham (Galatians 3:7). Therefore, the Scriptures relating to Israel mentioned below may also be said of the Christian, whether Jew or Gentile. Isaiah 64:8 states:

But now O LORD, Thou art our father; we are the clay, and thou our potter; And we all are the work of thy hand.

Jeremiah 18:6 states:

O house of Israel, cannot I do with you as this potter? saith the LORD. Behold, as the clay is in the potter's hand, so are ye in mine hand, O house of Israel.

Words relating to "potter" are found some 16 times in Scripture. They are: Psalm 2:9; Isaiah 29:16; Isaiah 41:25; 64:8; Jeremiah 18:2; 18:3; 18:4; 19:1; 19:11; Lamentation 4:2; Zechariah 11:13; Matthew 27:7; 27:10; Romans 9:21 (see Q&A on website); and Revelation 2:27.
