Scripture2 Scripture

is based upon the belief that Scripture will interpret Scripture when personal bias is left out of the deduction. Whether symbolic, spiritual, literal or whatever the interpretative method, Scripture will not contradict when "rightly dividing the word of truth."

Question: In I Corinthians 2:10, where it says, "for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God," why would the Holy Spirit need to search if He is omniscient? Answer: It is true that the Holy Spirit knows the depths of the wisdom and knowledge of God. The Holy Spirit (Ghost) is of the three-fold nature of the one True God, therefore, He is God (John 4:24; I Corinthians 2:11; Ephesians 4:6).

The Holy Spirit does not need to "search" for truths. He does, however, move through (searches) the knowledge and wisdom of God for us as we grow and become capable of consuming and understanding what God has to say to us. This is realized due to the previous verse (9), which reveals that our eyes have not seen, nor our ears heard, neither has it entered into our hearts, those things God has prepared for us. Obviously, according to our desire to know through prayer and study of God's Word, the Holy Spirit reveals those things to us as we grow. The degree of revelation is determined by our desire through personal application, not by any limits of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will give to us exactly what we need, when we need it, even the deep things of God (v.10). I've heard it said that the Holy Spirit is a gentleman. He will not force Himself on us to learn or do God's will. When we place God's will first in our lives (Matthew 6:33), our sincere desire will bring sincere results from God.

Delight thyself also in the Lord;and shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday" (Psalm 37:4-6).
